The world-renowned K-pop festival, ‘2024 MAMA Awards’grandly opened its curtain at the iconic Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, USA. Held on the 22nd (KST), this awards ceremony holds a special significance as it is the first K-pop awards ceremony to be held in the heart of Hollywood.

Park Bo-gum, taking the stage as the host for the first time, said, “The 2024 MAMA Awards is taking place here at the Dolby Theatre, where the Academy Awards are held and which became a hot topic due to the award won by the movie ‘Parasite’ and actress Yoon Yeo-jung. It’s an honor to be able to share this moment, taking our first step in America,” expressing his feelings.

He continued, expressing his unique feelings, that as this awards ceremony is “the first K-pop awards ceremony to be held in Hollywood, it will be another moment where we write a new history.”

This year’s ‘MAMA Awards US’lineup included world-renowned artists such as Anderson .Paak, singer and producer J.Y. Park, K-pop groups ILLIT, KATSEYE, RIIZE, TWS, and YOUNG POSSE.

In particular, the surprise appearance of Hollywood’s leading actors and film directors as presenters heightened the anticipation of the fans.

The awards ceremony began with TWS’s cover of BTS’s ‘Dynamite’, and ILLIT’s cover of TWICE’s ‘Heart Shaker’ and RIIZE’s cover of NCT 127’s ‘Kick It’ received enthusiastic cheers from the fans.
